WE NEED YOUR
HOMEWORKS SUCCESS STORIES!!!

Around the 15th of every month, NCDA publishes HOMEWORKS, a newsletter that focuses on the HOME program and the concerns of HOME administrators. In each issue of HOMEWORKS we aim to highlight successful and innovative uses of HOME funds in Practitioner's Corner, a feature segment devoted to best practices reporting.

NCDA members who administer HOME are encouraged to submit stories about the how the program is being put to work n their communities. Having one of your HOME projects featured in HOMEWORKS Practitioner's Corner

Some special topics we wish to highlight throughout 2001 include:

  • The current status of projects that were initiated when program was first born in 1990;
  • How innovative program administrators have been able to go above beyond what was initially envisioned for the program when it was first authorized in 1990;
  • Demonstrations of how HOME is being coupled with CDBG to jointly further the national objectives of both programs;
  • Projects involving the use of HOME to assist special needs populations like the homeless;
  • And any tips and advice that can educate HOME administrators on how to avoid or work around some commonplace problems that come with administering HOME.

If you're interested in submitting a project or story for publication in HOMEWORKS Practitioners Corner, please note that we'll need a brief description of the project, information on the partners hips and the financing structure that were used to get the project going, and an account of the income status of the targeted population being served by the project. The NCDA office contact for HOMEWORKS is Romulus Johnson. Just send your submission request to my e-mail address, romulus@ncdaonline.org, or call me at 202-887-5526 for info about mailing your submission information to me.
