Legislative Counsel/Housing Program Specialist
for the
National Community Development Association

With the impending departure of Jim Welfley, NCDA has begun its search
for a new Legislative Counsel/Housing Program Specialist. The position
encompasses two broad areas of responsibility: Legislative/Program/Policy
and Administrative.
The Legislative/Program/Policy element involves:

preparing portions of the NCDA Washington Report
-
providing technical assistance to members regarding program regulations,
legislative changes and statutory requirements
-
serving as an advocate for housing programs and initiatives
-
representing NCDA at NCDA regional meetings and other national association
meetings
The Administrative element involves:
-
coordinating community, economic and policy development efforts among member
communities
-
assisting in preparing the agenda for Annual Conference and Winter Meeting
-
composing written materials briefing papers and notices for meeting packets,
working with the membership committee to expand membership in NCDA
-
assisting in the preparation of the Board Meeting, which includes writing
the staff activity report and legislative updates
-
oversee the contract between NCDA, HUD and the National Affordable Housing
Training Institute

edit, design and market HOMEWORKS, NCDA's monthly newsletter detailing
programmatic and legislative developments affecting the HOME program
